Current Position: Project Manager / Senior Estimator Brett Hayes began his construction experience as a teen in 1980 working for his Step-Dad within the residential construction market. He performed carpentry and foreman duties over the course of seven years. From 1987 thru 1991 Brett held superintendent positions in both commercial development and residential construction activities. In 1991, Brett began his focus on the construction of educational facilities and learning the nuances of OPSC, DSA and other regulatory entities that govern school construction. Brett’s experience and well rounded knowledge landed him in the role of Project Manager and in 2002 he joined CKI with a willingness to learn and grow his skills. Since joining Carter-Kelly, Brett has managed well over 22 educational facilities projects with CKI. Brett extends his resume with numerous commercial and industrial projects as well. Along with educational facilities; his portfolio contains projects from every major market segment served by Carter-Kelly. He excels in public works projects and has extensive experience in parks, recreational and athletic facilities. He has completed more than 14 major municipal facilities projects including libraries and fire stations.
Brett has a wealth of experience utilizing multiple delivery methods. He provides our clients a value added benefit on alternative methods of Design-Build and Design-Assist projects where collaboration and team building are critical components to the project success. Specific CKI project management duties for Brett are; Estimating, Value Engineering & Conceptual Budgeting, Schedule Development & Analysis and Sub-Contracting & Purchasing.
When Brett is not on the jobsite mentoring our field superintendents or in the office working over a set of plans; he enjoys mentoring his 4 children in a multitude of extra-curricular youth sports activities. Brett has coached everything from soccer, to volleyball to youth football.
